NEED A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS.

I NEED A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS I am planning a 3 day traveling clinic. And I need a "little/lot of help from my friends." Each day's clinic will be 4 hours long. One instructor, 8 player max limit. This is a rough first draft of the curriculum and title.  You be the "editor."  Add, subtract, revise, critique, advise, input your thoughts and ideas. All suggestions and comments are welcome from the audience. The players who want these instructional events, are folks just like you and I.  Day 1 curriculum  for beginners and novices ~ how to correctly and consistently hit the ball, and where to hit the ball, and introduction to the first three game shots; Day 2 curriculum for players wanting to improve their shot performance, ball placement skills, the unattackable ball, and attacking the bangers;  Day 3 curriculum for skilled players who want to learn advanced play techniques, tactics, strategies, analyzing opponents strengths and weaknesse

PLAYING PICKLEBALL OUTDOOR RAIN DATE. . . GET INVOLVED NOW

SCHEDULED PICKLEBALL OUTDOOR PLAYING VENUES CAN BE MORE ACCOMMODATING TO REGULAR ATTENDEES IF THERE WAS A DEFALT INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELATION RAIN DATE!       Nothing  is more disheartening to a devout  pickleball player than to wake up to the sight or sound of rain or rustling tree leaves,  on the one day of the week they can play pickleball, especially when playing outdoors. Aside from be seriously PO'ed,  mouthing of unrepeatable expletives, there is not much we can do to change a moody mother nature.   But all is not lost!  If scheduled outdoor weekly pickleball play events are weather out, the organizers could set up a "default rain date and time, following these unforeseen cancelations. This way players will still get to play. Example: The WHITE MARSH PICKLEBALL SUNDAYS AT HONEYGO PARK OUTDOOR COURTS now has a default rain date and time, including another nearby location should there be a special event cancelation. WMP Sundays default play date, t

I STAND WITH TEACHERS

Image
I STAND WITH TEACHERS Teachers are the unsung heroes of society, past and present.  They are the first line of teaching communication skills and introducing civil discourse to our young people.  Teachers are often disrespected by students and parents alike.  We all need to stand with our Teachers and render the support they need.  When I started school many years hence, I was taught by Catholic Nuns from first to 8th grade.  I was incorrigible and rebellious when "Mom" wasn't around.  Even when punished or disciplined at home I refused to cry.  I wanted to cry but for spite I didn't.  Aside from the usual   "red bottom, mouth slap or closet detention at home, the Nuns in school were well trained in hands-on disciplinary measures.  But they were masters of teaching the unteachable. Aside from my contrarian attitude, I hated school work. I  d refrained from doing homework, and paying attention in class.  Well that all ended in the f

HOW TO FORM A PRIVATE PICKLEBALL CLUB

HOW TO FORM A PRIVATE PICKLBALL CLUB Based on previous Posts "Part I, II, and III, "How To Salvage Outdoor Courts From the Effects Of Inclement Weather (Standing Water, Wind, and Quickie Conversions of Outdoor Tennis Courts Into Pickleball Courts, the informal group of players can then band together and form their own Pickleball Club and induct more paying members to offset the costs of equipment and court clearing tools. The original group of 12 players could easily double their membership to offset the cost of expenditures for court accessories.  With at least 2 or 3 pickleball courts there is ample play time to accommodate 24 to 30 players. By banding together and forming a club with a formal name, more consideration would be given to their request for facility usage permits. , This would afford a group of 12 players a regular day time and place to play evening pickle ball during the mild weather months, even in conditions of standing water and moderate wind con

PART II: SALVAGING OUTDOOR COURTS FOR PICKLEBALL PLAY ON WINDY DAYS. I previously posted a remedy for removing standing water and tree debris from outdoor courts.  Now I will offer a solution for wind screening of outdoor courts. Average outdoor single tennis court perimiter fencing is 300 linear feet. One tennis court is equivalent to four pickle ball courts. The cost of 300 feet of Windscreen is $1125.00.  If 12 pickle ball players joined together and shared the cost of windscreen, court squeegee and push broom, approximately $1175.00, the per person investment would be approximately $100.
