PLAYING PICKLEBALL OUTDOOR RAIN DATE. . . GET INVOLVED NOW
SCHEDULED PICKLEBALL OUTDOOR PLAYING VENUES CAN BE MORE ACCOMMODATING TO REGULAR ATTENDEES IF THERE WAS A DEFALT INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELATION RAIN DATE!
Nothing is more disheartening to a devout pickleball player than to wake up to the sight or sound of rain or rustling tree leaves, on the one day of the week they can play pickleball, especially when playing outdoors. Aside from be seriously PO'ed, mouthing of unrepeatable expletives, there is not much we can do to change a moody mother nature.
But all is not lost! If scheduled outdoor weekly pickleball play events are weather out, the organizers could set up a "default rain date and time, following these unforeseen cancelations. This way players will still get to play.
Example: The WHITE MARSH PICKLEBALL SUNDAYS AT HONEYGO PARK OUTDOOR COURTS now has a default rain date and time, including another nearby location should there be a special event cancelation.
WMP Sundays default play date, time and location is Thursdays following the Sunday cancellation, at the Perry Hall Middle School Outdoor Pickleball Courts, starting at 6pm, nets and balls will be needed.
I am in the process of securing a Facility Usage Permit for that location with the Ba/Co Public Schools.
Players of other outdoor scheduled open play or drop-in pickleball venues could also benefit from a similar practice.
This is one way we can free ourselves from the binding chains of government controlled pickleball. Come cold weather, we will be back at the bureaucratic feed trough begging for a place to play indoors.
MORE REASON WHY WE NEED MORE PRIVATIZATION OF PICKLEBALL PLAY PROVIDERS.

IT'S TIME FOR YOU, Mr. and Ms. Pickleballer TO GET INVOLVED
Another solution to more pickleball playing opportunities is to personally get involved. Attend the BIRDS OF PICKLEBALL PLANING GROUP MEETINGS.
BARB ELGIN AND I HAVE STARTED A BIRDS OF PICKLEBALL PLANNING GROUP to explore different possibilities of attracting new and current private pickleball franchise to the east side of Baltimore County and South Harford County.
We are targeting the Route 40E and Route 7 Philadelphia Road Commercial corridor, and Industrial Park locations to seek out the hanger style rental buildings or occupied rental possibilities with enough floor space for 8 or more courts, including the vacant properties adjacent the White Marsh Mall.
We are also prospecting and promoting "pickleball" to area Churches with large halls as a fundraising activity. The same goes for private schools and fitness centers in this area.
National Pickleball Franchises will be presented a "formal Speculative Business Proposal," followed-up by a "Business Plan", if so requested.
Researching and contacting these prospects takes lot of man and woman hours, more so than just 5 dedicated volunteers can provide.
Our 5 member group unselfishly donate 1 or 2 hours a month of their playing time to attend these meetings. These dedicated pickleball players bring their ideas, suggestions and comments to share at these meetings.
You won't hear "members of our group" complain or criticize others who work hard to provide additional pickleball play venues.
Players interested in providing more pickleball play opportunities are welcome to join this group. If you are too busy playing pickleball we understand.
