HOW TO GO FROM A 3.0 TO A 4.0 IN 3 DAYS ?\

 I was bewildered by an ad in a well known pickleball magazine by a big time coaching service that travels the country making 3.0 players into 4.0 players after finishing their 15 hour course., I cannot dispute this claim because I have not attended this workshop. If anyone has attended it, please let me know the results. Did you start the course as a 3.0 and at the end your rating jumped to 4.0?

I was "bewitched, bothered and bewildered" by an ad in a popular pickleball magazine by a big time traveling coaching service that claims to make 3.0 players into 4.0 players after finishing a 15 hour workshop. I can not dispute or refute this claim. The tab for this amazing conversion is one "William McKinley," one "Ulysses S. Grant, and one Andy Jackson.  

Assuredly I do not have the tournament credentials of these masterful coaches. Nor can my 79 year old poorly functioning body move with the speed, responsiveness and agility of these younger thoroughbred coaches.
But over these last 7 years while they have been scuffing up the courts and standing on podiums, I was and still am, reading and researching every creditable pickleball book written on the playing of advanced pickleball, including several Tennis Books like the Inner Game of Tennis.

Amazingly these authors of old are the former grand masters of the game. They led the way in top notch pro pickleball technique and strategy. Back then they played with a a sense of style demonstrating the epidemy of smooth flowing motion when hitting or receiving the ball. They made the ball go where ever they wanted wanted, when they wanted. And they made it look easy.

Those tenured players did not run the court like spider man or super woman taking on the Matrix gang. They had smooth moves and timely responses to their opponents. . They were slick on the court and won with a sense of dignity, not jumping atop each other in hysterical celebration. They calmly walked to the next and shook hands politely congratulating their opponents for playing an outstanding game, win or loose.

Once again I digress! Back to the mystical powers of wizard like coaches who can transform 3.0 players into 4.0 players in three five hour sessions. This would make a great "Harry Potter Sequal." All for the measly sum of just under $600.
Can it be done. I know not the answer. I may look like a horses rear end even writing about this. But I am exercising my First Amendment Freedom of Speech Rights. I am sure I am breaking some "unwritten coaches code" by speaking my mind. However I sincerely hope it's true for the players who attend, sake.

Has some faithful reader of this bloggers page, experienced this transformation after attending one of these workshops?
I may have to eat my words, but it won't be the first time.

DOUBLES PICKLEBALL LADDER LEAGUE TEMPLATES.

DOUBLES PICKLEBALL TEAM LADDER LEAGUES TEMPLATES The USAPA webpage under Tournaments has software templates for most any kind of tournament imaginable.  USAPA members can obtain the software free, and register their ladder league in the same process. If 4 players can rotate in three game in one two hour period, logically 8 players or 4 teams can do the same.  I have never run a ladder league.  But I can work with templates and add or subtract to accomplish my objective. Recreational/competitive Pickleball is team related. recreational/competitive ladder leagues can and should be team related. By team related you pick your partner before the LL starts and you play with that same partner until the end of the LL.  Scores can be aggregate and represent one team.  Rotation of play will require more scheduling woos but its not rocket science.  The All Ladies Summer LL I was planned back in Summer 2019, was permanent partners, comprising 16 teams

‎SO YOU WANT TO TEACH PICKLEBALL TO NEW PLAYERS OR YOU HAVE DESIGNS ON BECOMING A PICKLEBALL COACH . . ;. READ THIS FIRST! For those players who are interested in becoming a IPATPA Certified Pickleball Level I Instructor you can do so just by attending one of the IPTPA Teach The Teacher Workshops.  You can find the schedule, dates, time and locations for these Workshops on IPTPA.com.
