HOLABIRD SPORTS LOCAL SUPPLIER OF ALL YOUR PICKLEBALL NEEDS

HOLABIRD SPORTS INSTORE TRY BEFORE YOU BUY, AND USE BEFORE RETURN POLICY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRICING AT ITS VERY BEST
Today I met with David Hirshfeld, the Owner/Operator HOLABIRD SPORTS. I also had the pleasure of meeting Brian Hirshfeld, (David's son), who is also involved in the "Operation" end of this highly successful, long time sports gear and sports wear business.
The Holabird Sports retail outlet store and website sales warehouse are housed in the same large building located at 9220 Pulaski Highway, Baltimore County, Maryland 21220.
The Store's phone number is 410-657-6440. Holabird Sports Website address: holabirdsports.com.
David" requested the meeting to get an updated Pickleball overview of the growth, demographics and specific player needs, including available court space, and player education on a National Level, and Maryland in particular.
"David's" intention is to stay ahead of the Pickleball Boom, by maintaining the highest level of customer service and satisfaction, possible, and supplying all the pickleball needs of new players up through the ranks of Advanced and Pro Players.
"David's Father" Mr. Hirshfeld Senior was the owner and operator of the famous GREEN SPRING RACQUET CLUB of Baltimore County. So "David" basically grew up learning the racquet sport business and supporting racquet sport play and events.
"David, and his son "Brian" and several staff members play pickleball to some degree, when possible. They know "Pickleball" and how to meet the needs of the "Pickleball Community. "
"David" even inquired about court marking supplies, like the most preferred tapes, colors, widths and styles used by Pickleball Clubs and Programs to tape indoor and outdoor pickleball playing surfaces.
We also discussed the USAPA recent change of Balls used for sanctioned tournaments, Dura Fast 40 versus the Onix Pure 2, pro and cons. I also learned that the color of the ball can vary performance based on the types of synthetic dyes used by the manufacturer. Orange balls tend to be a bit stiffer in wall texture.
Holabird Sports is awaiting the new "2018 Version of the IFP Official Pickleball Tournament Rulebook." A must have for any regular pickleball player. This is a handy little book, with water resistant pages, bound and held together by spiral rings. This Rulebook fits nicely in most any gear bag. And it comes in handy for resoling those at the net rule call debates.
Holabird Sports is probably best know for stocking and selling (retail and online) the largest variety of major brands of popular sport shoes and court shoes for most any sport.
Holabird Sports is a trusted business by thousands of Marylanders and out-of-state customers, who will drive long distances on weekends just to visit and shop at the retail outlet. These folks appreciate the expertise of the Instore Sales Staff, when selecting the right shoes and the proper fit of the shoes.
If I had to choose one thing that I like most about Holabird Sports it would be their indoor down sized racquet sport practice court, in their 9220 Pulaski Highway Retail Outlet. Pickleball paddle customers and most any other racquet sport customer, can try out any number of the brand name demo paddles to help them choose what feels and plays best for them.
The indoor mini-court is complete with a special responsive floor, court base lines and center lines, a full green painted wood backboard wall that returns balls as fast as you can hit them.
The backboard is striped with a white net line approx. 34" high. There is enough room in the practice court for two players to drill serves at the base line to dinks close to the net. I will take some of the newer demo paddles and test them in the practice court.
There is a generous supply of all racquet sport balls stored in a bucket like container, making it convenient to stand at the line and hit a series of balls without having to stop and chase each one separately.
Pickleball Paddle Customers are welcomed and encouraged to test a variety of paddles with different weights grip sizes, surface materials and core construction. And last but not least to select a paddle that fits their budget.
"David" suggested that I do multiple 1 hour beginner pickleball intro and instruction seminars, on a Saturday, in the practice court area. He also likes the idea of doing Pickleball Shot Skills Demonstrations using the Simon2 Ball Machine. He would promote and advertise these events in advance on his Holabird Sports Social Media Netwoork.
I suggested doing a "how to paddle selection" demo clinic using the multitude of brand name pickleball demo paddles, citing and demonstrating the pros and cons of each paddle, and how one paddle may be better from a player than another paddle. We could even do "experienced player skills improving drills."
Teaching four separate classes of new inexperienced pickleball players per week, averaging 10 to 12 participants each class, I highly recommend Holabird Sports to all of my students. I do this not for any personal gain. I do this because I trust the staff at Holabird to provide my students with the proper court shoes, pickleball paddles, and pickleball accessories they need, within their price range.
My recommendation is a measure and reflection of my creditability in the eyes of my students. Not one of my students has ever complained to me about the service, product selection or pricing, at Holabird Sports.
No other retail store that I know of provides such unique customer service where you can actually try before you buy. Holabird also has one of the best paddle return policy in the business. If you purchase a paddle and play with it one time, and are not satisfied with the paddle, you can return it to the store.
Holabird Sports, IMO, has it all from their friendly knowledgeable sales staff, no-waiting or ordering inventory, top brand names, the indoor demo court, demo paddles and racquets, and their unbeatable prices. This is what "real" trust worthy customer service is all about.
