IPTPA 4.0 SKILL ASSESSMENT SHEET SUMMARIZED
IPTPA 4.0 skill assessment consists of 30 minutes of match play evaluation.
- > Rotate partners at the conclusion of each game to 8 pts.
- Skill Sets evaluated during match play:
- 4.0 Skill level possess all 3.5 skills.
- Sustains volley exchange at net with directional control.
- • Demonstrate a block volley.
- • Hits winning volley when ball is popped up.
- • Improved consistency on 3rd shot drop from the baseline.
- • Hits 3rd shot drop from baseline during match play with success.
- • Moves with partner, switching sides, and communicates when required.
- • Controls play at NVZ line, keeps opponent back at baseline.
- • Initiates & maintains a dink exchange to elicit a put away shot.
- • Can demonstrate an effective poach, and understands when appropriate.
- • Able to change a fast paced strategy to a slow one and vice versa.
- • Consistently perform an overhead & place the shot for winners.
- • Displays (direction, depth, height, spin) control on forehand groundstrokes.
- Displays (direction, depth, height, spin) control on backhand groundstrokes. • Keeps ball in play during rallies, minimizing errors
- • Adjust to differing ball speeds consistently
- • Uses offensive lobs effectively
- • Beginning to use spin effectively on a variety of shots
- • Maintains greater patience in dinks & rallies
- • Anticipate shots more frequently (watching opponents paddle face)
