DROP SHOT DRILL PROP

               DROP SHOT DRILL PROP

The visual teaching aide I described in the prior Drop Shot Post is an excellent practice prop to use when drop shot drilling. Once you determine your ball arc's apex above your NVZ line, leave it in place as a guide to develop your imaginary air-ball target to repeat the shot by muscle memory come game time.
A tip for strengthening your back hand is to locate an old played out paddle weighling 7 oz or less,  Then have a partner hand feed you balls at the baseline to hit to a target in the opposing court's transition zone.
The lifeless light-weight paddle will force you to  lengthen your backhand follow-thru that will send the ball deep. I did this to strengthen my back hand. Add a target and work on your ball placement while fine tuning your backhand.
