ACHILLES TENDON TEAR SURGERY POST-OP WEEK 13 UPDATE
RECOVERY UPDATE: ACHILLES TENDON TEAR REPAIR SURGERY 12/19/19 PHYSICAL THERAPY WAS CANCELED DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION.
I am continuing my home exercises, stationary bike riding 20 minutes daily, and walking around the outside of the house in regular court shoes. Needless to say my feet are sore and swollen afterwards but that's normal during this recovery process.
I also walk out to my truck parked next to my house in my drive way and practice driving using my right foot. Its like a driving simulator. Each day I use my home pickleball practice aid and hit 200 shots, mostly different spin variations, top spin, back spin, underspin, cross spin and cross-back spin.
This home practice aids allows me to practice repetitive shots and watch the different effects that spin has on a ball. I also practice hitting the ball with my eyes closed. Once I get in the Zone of just hitting without thinking, I will shut my eyes and just let my body mechanics time and hit the ball as it returns back to the strike point.
The best I have done to date is 10 closed eye hits without a miss. So much for the rule of always keeping you eye on the ball. Its amazing what muscle memory can do when you let it.
