FALL PROTECTION BELT IN THE WORKS

The technical engineers are working on a FALL PROTECTION BELT. This belt would be worn around the waist similar to a money belt.  It is equipped with balance sensors.  When your body would change from the upright position to a falling position, the balance sensor would activate air bags on your front back and sizes to protect you from contacting the floor. Damn Skippy, I want one of these suckers!   Not so fast "grasshopper."  This concept is still on the drawing board, and has a ways to go to reach fruition.  

Just think what this would do for oldies like myself playing pickleball. A small Velcro belt around the wait weighing less than a pound or two could save many fractured or broken joints such as wrist, elbows, hips, knees, shoulder, and fingers.  The head would still be vulnerable for contact with the floor.

I have no idea what this "fall chute" would cost.  But how can you put a dollar sign on a fractured wrist or cracked hip.  The time off the court rehabbing would more than justify the cost. 

Has anyone else head of tis new revelation ?
