A $ 2.00 POCKET NOTEBOOK VERSUS A $75,00 PRO COACHING CLINIC

WOULD YOU RATHER SPEND $1.99 FOR A POCKET CARRY NOTE BOOK, OR PAY $75.00 FOR 90 MINUTES OF HIGH PROFILE PROFESSION PICKLEBALL COACHING CLINIC? Celebrity status of a coach influences many player on their need for coaching. Some players have a misconception that Celebrity Coaches carry, a "magic dust," that when sprinkled upon them, changes them from a 3.0 or 3.5 player into a 4.0 or 4.5 player. And remarkable these star struck worshipers actually play better after a celebrity coaching session, not because they learned how to improve their game play, simply because of the placebo effect. The bigger the coaches reputation the better the player will perform on the court. WHY? Short answer, 'SELF CONFIDENCE.' Player mindset at the start of a game is determining factor on the outcome of the game. Start the game thinking that the opponents are these unbeatable pickleball gods who devastate all those who dare to oppose them on a court, and challenge their mythological powers, of ball control, ball placement and shot selection. Start the game thinking that you will play an error free game regardless of your opponents reputation, and you just may win. But you cannot only think it, you need to do it. Keep count of your unforced errors during each game. Use a courtside notebook to record your unforced errors after each game. Write down what the unforced error or fault was, and the number of times you committed each error. Forget about the numerical score. Its a number irrelevant number that does not measure your skill performance or game strategy knowledge. The errors you commit during a game tell the real story. Keep your GAME ERROR NOTEBOOK in your paddle pack. Review its contents before each game. You will begin to see distinct patterns of flaws that need to be corrected. Now you have a PRACTICE BLUEPRINT FOR IMPROVEMENT. You improve your skill levels and skill sets by repetitious practice to correct the strokes and shots that you are performing incorrectly. Begin with the basic shot mechanics, grip style, grip tightness, ready position, balanced foot position, keeping ball out in front of your body, selecting the right shot at the right time. Executing the shot correctly. And predetermining the purpose of that shot and where the shot should land. Keep your eyes focused on the ball as you hit the ball, and the flight of the ball, & immediately return to the ready position awaiting the opponents return. Do not stand idlily by admiring your shot. Assume the ready position, plant your feet and anticipate how and where your opponent will return the ball. Playing game after game without any after thought, is great for endurances, but does nothing to improve your game playing abilities. It does develop a pattern of poor stroke performance and losing shot selection. Which ever method you choose "cheap notebook or costly coach" YOU NEED TO PRACTICE CORRECTING THE FLAWS IN YOUR GAME AND YOU NEED TO PRACTIC SPECIFIC SKILL SETS YOU WANT TO IMPROVE. IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO PRACTICE, AND CHOOSE TO JUST PLAY IN OPEN PLAY, YOUR CHANCES OF BECOMING A BETTER PLAYER ARE SLIM TO NONE, AND SLIM JUST LEFT TOWN OF A FAST HORSE!
