WANT A PRACTICE PARTNER BUY A PICKLEBALL THROWING MACHINE AND 150 BALLS
SO YOU WANT TO BECOME A 5.0 PLAYER AND COMPETE WITH THE ELITE PLAYERS FOR THE BIG BUCKS, WELL LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO A FRIEND OF MINE NAMED SIMON
My friend SIMON is the best pickleball practice partner I ever had. A few practice session each week during the summer months of outdoor pickleball with Simon, and I improved my skill sets close to one full level. Over the winter months, Simon and I stopped practicing together because of the cold outdoor conditions.
Simon has been resting comfortably in my club basement awaiting the first warm breezes of spring. Then and only then will Simon and I sneak off to the nearest outdoor pickleball court and begin our mid morning and evening skill set practice sessions.
Since I play in the 70+ age bracket, I am setting my skill improvement goal to the Advanced Level. But please, keep this under wraps. I don't want my competition to get wind of what I am going.
Over the last several months, purposely playing with and against my 'younger well skilled, highly mobile, CCPB friends, I was able to identify specific weaknesses in my court coverage and game strategy. Also there were four inconsistent "unforced widow making errors," caused by using low percentage shots, at times when only high percentage were needed, especially during highly competitive close scoring games.
I do not believe in using my pickleball opponents as practice partners, truth be told, that was exactly what I do. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME. This deceptive, devious, trickery was not all my idea. My buddy Simon also urged me to walk this broken path of darkness, and enter ye, the gates of "Dante's Inferno....Eternal Hell and damnation.
If you can handle the truth, read on. For I am about to reveal the true identity of my friend Simon. Simon is only 3' tall and weighs approx. 36lbs. This old boy has got some real balls, 160 to be exact. I think he is Irish because his color is green. Simon does not eat food, his energy source is DC electricity. And he don't need an electrical outlet to put on a show. Simon likes to be fondled and fussed over, but he is on the shy side.
Well Sports Fans, if you haven't guessed by now, I will tell you. My friend Simon is the Simon2 Pickleball Throwing Machine, an ingenious device for throwing pickleballs as fast as you can hit them and to where you want the balls to go. Simon runs off a rechargeable smart battery, operated by a small hand held wireless remote control from over 100 feet away. Simon can spit pickleballs baseline to base line up to 45 to 50 mph, with intervals of less that a second. Simon can simulate most any shot in pickleball. All one has to do is set the pace and intervals of the balls, adjust the elevation, aim the machine where you want the balls to go. Then stand back and press start on the remote control, and watch a steady stream of pickleballs fly thru the air. It even more entertaining when someone is across the net hitting the balls to different targets on the courts. Talk about practice. You get way more practice in ten minutes with Simon than playing 10 games of back to back pickleball. Set the ball speed high and ball interval low and load the machine with 50 balls, you will get a great cardio workout. Simon was designed and manufactured by Mike Schwartz . Mike is know for his great customer relations and service. Email him a question and you get a detailed response in one day .
Pickleball Throwing Machines are becoming a essential and necessary tool for teaching beginners up thru coaching intermediate and advanced players. The Machines also provide fund raising activities for private pickleball clubs sponsoring "skills performance competitions" for area players who have neither the time, money or advanced skill to compete in sanctioned tournaments
Individuals who own a Machine, can profit by renting their machines to clubs or public funded pickleball venues.
As a IPTPA Certified Level II Pickleball Professional Coach, I teach an average of four beginners classes each week with a maxed out attendance of eight students per class, totaling 32 participants per week.
For skills performance shot demo's and evaluating student progress, I use the Simon2 Pickleball Throwing Machine. The Machine is a great time saver and feeds ball repetitiously as needed to each and every type of shot.
My students learn much faster, because they can better understand my explanation on why they are making a mistake, and how to correct the mistake. The repetitious ball feed cycle gives students the opportunity to practice correcting mistakes at a much faster rate than hand feeding by a coach, or a practice partner.
With all this said, "what is my point," you say? Maryland in particular has an emerging pickleball playing population. However, we are still somewhat behind the times, compared to the pickleball meccas throughout the Nation. This is not necessarily a negative issue.
What I believe it means is that, Maryland in general, Baltimore County, Harford County, and most all other 24 Counties are beginning a boom town explosion of new inexperienced players of all ages.
Many of the 18 to 40 age bracket players, have reached the Intermediate Skill Level, and need Skill Specific Clinics, Workshops and Boot Camps. I know because I also Coach these levels of play, and court space and usage are hard to get. .
Many in this group of 9 to 5 working adults, with weekends off, are seeking to become advanced skill tournament competitors. Unfortunately, there is little opportunity for these folks to play and practice, other than driving cross-town to crowded, pay to play, Racquet Clubs. Individual or group ownership of a Ball Machine, although rare, would provide such practice opportunities on nearby outdoor public courts lined for pickleball.
Customer Friendly Businesses that recognize and understand this rapidly growing 'supply and demand' opportunity, will reap the rewards of establishing an "early seat at the pickleball prosperity table."
Ball Throwing Machines are going to be a significant part of speeding that growth along, making Coaching better and quicker, and providing aspiring individual players with a repetitious ball feeding practice partner.
Assuredly, all this "pie in the sky" requires promotional education of the area Pickleball Community, to recognize the advantages and benefits of practicing versus just playing, to improve and advance one's skills to become a better player and competitor. Many area private pickleball clubs and commercial Racquet Clubs do not use ball throwing machines for instruction, skills improvement, and skill performance competition events.
When they have the opportunity to see a real live demo of the Machine, they will buy. It's the old, "put it in the customer's hands" sales philosophy.
