A LITTLE HELP & LESS CRITICISM FROM MY FRIENDS
DIRTY LAUNDARY NOT FOR RESPECTFUL COMMENTARY AND READER CONSUMPTION ON THE CCPB FACE BOOK PAGE
When you see or hear the contentious lies, from the intellectually impaired, border line illiterate, selfish, critics who crawl from their darken sanctuaries, to speak UNTRUTHS on behalf of other self serving, remnants of humanity (LOST), that fear exposure to light of day, YOU KNOW, that you are a "doer of good deeds," and your time and efforts are appreciated by the multitudes of fair-minded players within the pickleball community.
So what is so terribly wrong, with attempting to provide the under 55 years of age, 9-5 working, family supporting pickleball enthusiast, an opportunity to enjoy this wonderful game as we do ? Well there are some in our ranks, who resent those of us, who volunteer our time and energy to provide pickleball playing opportunities and pickleball group organizing for all the members of our Community.
As a Pickleball Community, we ALL should support and assist any and all efforts to provide pickleball playing opportunities for those who do not qualify for the generous public funded pickleball programs sponsored by local governments. Some individuals who enjoy and participate in these fee-free "programs" forget that their recreation is bought and paid for by all the tax payers, including those players, under 55 years of age, and are not eligible to participate.
I frequently hear the "hue and cry" of the under 55 pickleball crowd, who work a 9-5 week, with after work family commitments, and can only schedule one or two hours per week to play pickleball. That's providing a public lined outdoor pickleball court is nearby, the warm weather season has arrived, and rain or wind is not in the forecast.
Most current public outdoor pickleball courts are shared by tennis players, and unlighted for after dark play. Local governments have agreed to provide more public outdoor pickleball playing opportunities, which will be shared with tennis players. Tennis nets are usually permanent features on these courts. Pickleball players must provide their own portable nets. The actual lining of more outdoor public pickleball courts has not yet occurred.
Unfortunately, public funded recreation providers seem to overlook this demographic of pickleball player. They seldom, if ever, host "indoor pickleball open play" programs to accommodate this rapidly growing demographics of younger players. Week end indoor playing opportunities could be intermittently scheduled when other sports are on hiatus. Under 55 open play participants fully understand that any programs provided to them by public funded recreation providers, will be a pay to play registration.
The "under 55 years of age" pickleball enthusiasts have been forgotten by local government recreation providers. This group of players is relegated to playing on the "few" outdoor public lined pickleball courts that are provided by local government. The current supply of public lined pickleball courts, for the most part are unlighted for after dark play. Many of these designated courts are unlighted for evening to night play.
I will be more than happy to welcome "a little help from my friends, without the snide criticism, to provide pickleball playing opportunities to ALL members of our Community.
