SYNAPSE PICKLEBALL PADDLE REVIEW

BARB ELGIN WANTED TO KNOW IF THE SYNAPSE PICKLEBALL PADDLE IS A NEW PADDLE ?

Having had the fun of testing and writing reviews on  23 different paddles from all major brands, I have not as yet tested the Synapse Paddle by Prince

But hear is what their  ad claims the paddle will do::

The Synapse Pickleball Paddle uses Prince’s circular shape to create a face that responds beautifully across its entire surface. Whether you’re hitting dead center or near the edge, either way you’ll get a pickleball flying cleanly back towards your opponent. A light texture on the surface adds to the paddle’s impressive consistency and control by evenly distributing energy.

The Synapse Pickleball Paddle has a 5-1/2” handle that will allow you to perform double-handed backhands and has a small circumference. The core uses a polymer honeycomb that helps to minimize impact but still allow for powerful put-aways. The paddle has a weight range of 76.9 – 7.6 oz, making it easy to react quickly. It features an image of the Prince “P” logo with a dual-colored background.

The Synapse Pickleball Paddle will make your shots easier to control while allowing you to redirect incoming pickleballs to your advantage.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Further research found that this paddle has not as yet been reviewed either on Amazon or Pickleball Central. It sells for $48.  I have heard good things from respected pickleball players like Bonnie Marshal who owns a Prince Paddle.  But its probably one of the upscale models.

The "ad" boasts on the paddles ability to send a pickleball cleanly back to your opponents.  They also claim the sweet spot encompasses most of the entire face.  All this for $48.

To be fair, I would have to test the paddle before commenting on its performance.  However, I am skeptical about the claims of a full face sweat spot, and straight flying pickleballs. Polymer Honeycomb core is not know for powerful put-aways.  Nomex Honeycomb core under a graphite face has both power and control.   I did not see the face material in the ad.

Why would a paddle need a 5 1/5" long handle, except to perform double handed backhands from the backcourt. That seems to conflict with the "powerful put-away" claims.  Top of the line Prince paddles cost about $130.  That's a difference of $82.  The question arises, what makes this paddle $82 cheaper than its Prince counter parts ?  And why omit naming the material used for the face.

The price is attractive.  The best advice I can give about this paddle is "try before you buy," and compare it to other low priced paddles especially those made by Gamma,
