COACH'S CORNER Charm City Pickleball Sunday 7/1/2018 Great Play & Great Players

“COACHES CORNER,” SUNDAY 7/1 CCPB @ NERRC 11AM-12:30PM GREAT PLAY & GREAT PLAYERS
WOW! What a phenomenal mix of high skilled pickleball players that attended the Sunday CCPB NERRC Open Play Venue.  Not only were these players extremely talented, they were congenial and considerate of their fellow plays,  awaiting court time.

I was fortunate to witness and participate in several "text book style" finesse strategy pickleball  games. Participants mutually complimented each other on individual shots and crosscourt volleys.  Players were not only playing well, they were having a lot of fun in the process.

Many of the  regular CCPB players who showed up were not disappointed.  The newly painted pickleball court lines on a superior grade court surface, make this a premier pickleball venue.  As word spreads groups of invading pickleball interlopers will also want to play there.

I had the priveledge of meeting our newest member “Ben Wickstein.” “Ben” has recently moved to this area from Roanoke VA.  “Ben” is 27 years old and has been playing pickle ball for 5+ years.  I lent him a paddle so he could play today.  What I witnessed thereafter was all “BEN.”  Aside from using the old worn out clichés “he got game,” this young man has all the attributes of an “Advanced Player 4.0 to 4.5 Skill Level. His shot execution, shot selection and shot placement are all spot on.  He knows finesse style pickle ball strategy and has cat-like mobility.

I fully expect “Ben” to continue developing game to the “pro-level.”  We talked court strategy after he played several  games, and “Ben” is well versed on modern day “winning pickle ball“ techniques and tactics.

Stephanie is physically fit,  and extremely mobile.  She can handle the visors of hard play pickle ball. Stephanie also has a strong desire to win, and a “never quite” attitude, no matter what the score.  She is a fast learner and she will reach her potential as a player, in short order.  nd able to take coaching lessons to improve, which she does.  Barb, on the other hand!-?  Well you all know Barb! Ruth and I partnered together and played good pickleball.  I complimented her on her performance. Ruth has acquired the  basic skill sets, and is now moving forward to advancing her game.  Ruth is serious about competing in tournament pickle ball. I am fully confident that Ruth will achieve her goal, and I am delighted that she has selected me to help her. Thank You, "Ruth!"

Stephanie Larsen is another player that I coach.  Stephanie has the “fire and intensity” to continuously improve her pickle ball playing skills.  She is dedicated to practicing shot execution, shot placement and game strategy.

Again, I am very appreciative that Stephanie has asked me to coach her.   Thank You, "Stephanie."

Many thanks to all my CCPB friends in attendance today at NERRC.  It is a privilege to play with such dedicated and congenial pickle ball players.

In closing I have had a “Custom Banner” made to promote my “coaching Services.”  I would appreciate if the CCPB members would give me their opinions as to “LIKE OR DIS LIKE.”  If you like use the thumbs up "like" sign.  If you dislike use a sad smiley face emoji.
